What A Surprise

Last Thursday, I was invited to the Grand Opening of the New San Diego Cancer Center in Encinitas, CA. Among the honored guests was Dr. Dennis Slamon of UCLA. Dr. Slamon is best known for his research into the HER2/neu gene and the development of Herceptin.

Dr. Slamon is also the honorary vice-president of the HER2 Support Group.

Did Dr. Slamon tell you about his trial with the companion to Herceptin? My brother raises money for the Revlon Run/Walk where Slamon was the featured speaker this year. I feel so lucky and grateful to Slamon for the opportunity to take Herceptin.
