Re: How Molecular Profiling Works

GDP,

Thank you, as always, in keeping the board informed on the progress of functional profiling.

Perhaps this focus on molecular profiling in December will help open the door for more patients to access functional profiling and the treatments that will extend their lives AND eliminate unnecessary toxic treatments?

I think molecular profiling is saying this treatment COULD prolong your life.

Functional profiling is able to say this treatment WOULD prolong your life compared to the other treatments that were tested.

It does seem to me that genetic profiling is generating all the new treatments. Hopefully future patients will benefit when research and medical mainstream accept that blocking a pathway or two is not working.

I think science would move faster if both molecular and functional testing were used simultaneously. I see new molecular pathways as research.

Functional profiling which simply states cell death end points and had previously been Medicare approved should be considered as a current part of the practice of medicine.
