Flori--what are the requirements to be allowed on the TDM-1 with pertuzumab trial? Where is it?

Let's see what the reports at ASCO are for TDM1 vs tdm1 + pertuzumab--perhaps the time you are spending waiting for additional info ie, PET/CT results on tykerb too might allow you to get on a different or better regime--too bad one can't choreograph one's fate

Maybe info from ASCO will help you feel more comfortable that you won't end up in limbo shut out of one trial and not yet able to get into another

I too am waiting in the wings...wondering is this the once for me...is TDM-1 my prince charming? I chose Herceptin/Tykerb last time, and it wasn't my golden ticket...I only did well on it for 3 months, and now Avastin has failed....and they still feel it may have led to the pericardial effusion....so I will stall adn stay on Herceptin with the metronomic chemo for now, which seems to offer the angiogenesis route of avastin only cheaper and in pill form, with less side effects....my B/P is already back to normal...no more B/P meds....
You weigh the pros and cons, which is the right thing to do...hard to switch if your current plan is keeping you stable...in our world, stable is a good thing...NED is a dream, but a dream we can reach for!
Whatever you decide, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Lani, Breastlink said they were supposed to get pertuzamab + tdm1 - I will call back on Tuesday so I'll post any updates. I have never consulted with Dennis Slamon, have only seen John Glasby at UCLA. Maybe it's time for a guest appearance with Slamon. At least my notebook is extremely organized right now. I think he will be on my Tuesday call list as well as Breastlink.
Sheila, it's so good that you are well enough to be home and posting again. Sounds like you are feeling better and that is fantastic.
I just need to get a clean brain scan and then get thru till 6/15 for my PET. "just"...

I am also in the wings... while waiting for a Texas location, I am hoping things remain quiet with scans. PET, brain MRI and liver MRI are all clear, and all we see is the little new spot on the adrenal. Hoping that June 9 brain MRI will remain clear in anticipation of TDM-1 expanded access. Flori, I will be very interested to hear what you learn about TDM-1/pertuzamab trials, I didn't know that we could potentially qualify for them.

Ladies: I was offered the TDM-1/Pertuzumab trial at Dana Farber. It involves the addition of Taxol. It is phase 1 right now at three facilities.
