Good News Madubois
I received an email from Liz, a friend of Madubois:
How are you? I just got home from the hospital. I had the most wonderful time with Maryann just sitting and talking and watching tv together. I was so happy and relaxed with her and so pleased at her continued recovery, I forgot to leave to go to class.
Let me say this, she looks wonderful, is improving daily and looking forward to rehab and walking again. The basis of her problem seems to be that her port was infected and no one caught it for months!!!!!!! Her face turned black mask like and still no one thought anything of it. She was in the hospital for pneumonia and still no one caught her septic infection. Only when her kidneys started to fail and her body filled with fluid did anyone think "Hum, we think there is a problem". But enough of that, Maryann speaks of you both often. BTW, I have a question, Did either of you live in Brooklyn before your move to the west coast?
Please keep in touch, I am going to bring my laptop back to Maryann so she can communicate with the outside world.
Thanks for thinking of her and keeping her in your prayers, You are in mine,
With prayers for Peace and a CURE NOW, Liz
Regards
Joe

Re: Good News Madubois
Joe, Thanks so much for sharing that with us. I have been wondering how she was doing since she last posted. As always she has been through quite the ordeal and still keeps on going. She just amazes me...she is one unbelieveable woman. So inspriational and I always have her in my thoughts and prayers.
I can't believe no one nobody notice the infection in her port...that is serious business. Thank God someone finally realized it and took care of the problem. I will continue to keep her in my prayers.
Sending warn healing thoughts and positive energy your way.
Love & hugs!
Chelee

Re: Good News Madubois
Joe, thank you so much for posting this information. I have continued to be so worried about her. This poor woman has been thru so much, it's just crazy!
When I was first diagnosed, her posts and her willingness to share helped me so much. What a warrior she is.
Thanks again
