Angel Flight down...very sad
As some of you know, I have used Angel Flights to get to Buffalo, NY for my bone marrow transplant and follow up visits. I am very saddened to hear that an Angel Flight went down this morning killing the patient, his wife and the pilot. This is the first crash Angel Flights has ever had and I am just floored by this news. I don't know if the link will work, but you can copy and paste if you want to read the article. The pilot avoided a supermarket and the cars in the parking lot, so no one else was hurt.

Hi Maryann,
I just heard this story on our local news station. It is so sad and I can imagine it "hits even closer to home" for you having used Angel Flights yourself. Another reminder that one just never knows when our time will come.
Sending hugs and love as always,
Mary Jo

Maryanne, This is very sad. It's like we never know what's going to happen no matter how much we plan. May they rest in peace.

Thanks to everyone that thought of me! I know besides the family, everyone at Angel Flights must be devastated. The last time I flew, the pilot and I were talking and he mentioned that they had never lost a flight. It just seems so unfair...The couple leaves behind young twin boys. I did not know the pilot (which I am very glad to learn).
I just saw on the news that Angel Flight North East has flown over 30,000 flights and 53,000 patients (they double up sometimes) without problems.

Ladies
I seen the again on the news today, it was so beautiful to see parents explain just what 'Angel Flights' is to their children. There were many children placing flowers there upon the site and crying. My friend who does an Angel Flight here in Rhose Island was planning on going to the site and to their funerals. So so sad. Rest in Peace.>>Believe51

It just makes no since. Here is someone doing another a good deed and this happens. I just found out that a girl I play tennis with just died this morning on the tennis court. She was in her 40's, good physical condition. I guess when it's your time, it's your time. I am so sorry and saddened by this news of angel flight...sherryg683

Sad
Hi Maryann,
When I read this news I immediately thought of you. This is very sad news. I feel so sorry for the victims and their children. Nevertheless, it is important to remember Angel's flight record. I don't like to fly and always need to remind myself that it is still the safest way to travel.

Hey MA -
Gosh, I thought of the photo you posted of you and your friend in the plane on the way to Buffalo. You had such a big smile and wrote of your profound appreciation to the pilots who took you.
Been a lot of bus accidents lately, too.
Madame D, I notice you have changed your photo to one that I took of you in San Diego at the Argentinian grill we took full advantage of! TIPtoe and Tex enjoyed it as well - as she reaches for one of those sausages from your shoulder. Thanks for scouting that place out.

Very sad news
I haven't used the Angel flights, but they have provided decades of service to many people. All of this must be very painful not only for the families of all the crash victims but for those who try to provide the service. However, it is important to be aware of their situation:
