What is COX 2? How do we know if we are at risk vs treatment? Can we ask our onc?

Dear Michka

You might not be able to know nor your onc. Ask if it is okay to take one full strength aspirin per day. It is a Cox1 and Cox 2 inhibitor and safer to take than Celebrex long term. I take one per day for this reason.

Thank you for posting this.

Please see the Greek Diet posts and particularly the most recent posts.

Balancing the Omega Threes and Omega sixes etc is another way of reducing the production of COX2 and related products.

Long term usage of COX blocker can have significant to serious side effects so please ensure you talk to your medical advisor and check out potential side effects.

Balancing the omega three and sixes as a starting point does not carry the risk of side effects (except blood thinning at high dosages). Please talk to your advisor about dietary change.
