A ketogenic diet increases brain insulin-like growth factor receptor and glucose
transporter gene expression.
While reading up on IGFR, I found this article. For those of you who don't know what a Ketogenic Diet is, it is an "alternative medicine" diet that is supposed to help epileptics (my dad sent it to me years ago as I am epileptic, but being that I am allergic to fowl and USED to be until recently, allergic to fish, my diet only consisted of red meat (AND lots of sugar)...hmmm.
