Brenda - Tell us about Denver!
How was it?
Were people curious as to what HER2 is??
Guess we will get Tip and Tex back on track now and I will update the visit schedule.
Thanks for doing what I know was a really GREAT job in upping people's awareness.

I have been busy with scans this week (PET machine broke while I was on table, so had to be rescheduled) and I have been under the weather with allergy/sinus infection/cough,cough,cough and have tried to work a little, so I haven't had time to congeal my thoughts really... but I will post the few interesting things I learned in the next few days...
It was a little surprising to me how many women didn't know the details of their dx. Some who came by the table had been told they were HER2, but didn't know anything about what that meant. It was a very "Breast Cancer 101" feel to some of the seminars, but maybe that is because we are such an informed group of women here on the site that have been to many other meetings that this one felt like it was really for newbies.
There were a few "feel good" and emotionally healthy hints that I learned, though, that I would like to post. Give me a few days (headed out of town today for 2 days) and I will try and type it in to the computer.

Yes Brenda,
I would love to hear your thoughts.
I was so glad to meet you. I was diagnosed two years ago with Her2Neu+. I had no idea this board existed until I met you. Neither I, nor my friend with Her2Neu+ (diagnosed within 3 months of each other) knew of the resources available. And since we are both such obsessive reserchers, you and this board were a revelation. And hope!
Depending on what you post, Brenda, maybe I can add something.
I have been struggling with a 'minor' problem of carpal tunnel syndrom compounded with lyphedema and I learned so much at the Cure conference. I'll post if you did not hit those break-outs.
Sheesh, sinuses, you saw the thread, right? where I posted my "techique". Do order a copy of Sinus Survival if you don't have one. Look at Alibris for cheap used copies. Although lots of places have new around Denver. Never felt a water damaged copy of the book was, well... ewwww.
Don't know if you have ever tried Tussinex cough syrup. Hydrocodone/Chlorpheniramine. Wicked expensive but works for me when my kids share their latest nasty virus. Calms the cough. Constipating, of cours so needs a Metamucil or senna/colace chaser. with each dose.
Thanks to you all for letting me hang out here.
Carla

Jackie, we all knew Brenda was one tough cookie, but breaking the PET scanner is a bit much!
I wanted to break it once when the tech was whistling the "leave it to Beaver" theme song while I was in the scanner! A true test of my ability to remain perfectly still...

I had a PET/CT scan too last week. I thought they had forgotten about me in my little room as time for the shot had long passed. Turned out the person before me had to REDO, but it was just a small computer glitch. Glad I did not have to come back - just wait longer.
Guess we will all be sharing "good news" of our results next week!
Waiting for more from Brenda & Jaded.
