Need Help from IBC Members

Dear IBC Members

Some of you may know that I am also a Reach to Recovery (RTR) volunteer for the American Cancer Society (ACS). RTR calls newly diagnosed women who call the ACS for help and support. They want to talk to someone who was like them (in either pathology, age group, children the same age etc).

I was contacted today because my ACS unit knows I know alot of women with bc and they have a referral for a 39 yr old woman who was newly diagnosed with IBC. Naturally she is frightened and wants to talk to someone her age (35-45 yrs old) that had IBC. I do not know any particulars yet and the ACS will be talking to her first but, in NJ, there is no one that is RTR that had IBC and is in that age group around 39 yrs old.

The ACS will let me know more tomorrow and it may all fall through but I was hoping any of you who fit that profile will privately message me if you are interested in talking with this woman (she may not be Her2+). Also, is there a similar IBC website address.

I will let all who respond know what is happening one way or the other.

Thanks so much

Becky,
We met these people in Chicago at ASCO and they seem pretty proactive.
