Another special Day!
Well, today marks 33 years I have been married to the same man! Amazing how the years have flown. I am happy to say he is still by my side guiding me through the longest and hardest journey of my life-fighting IBC. My sister said to me before she past, when we are young and take those vows, in sickness or in health till death we part, we don't think about the long term sickness we may endure and one may become dependent on the other. How true this is. One spouse may have the illness but in realilty both are living it. My illness has been life changing for both of us. It has brought us closer together and we have learned to reach out to the other. We take one day at a time and try to live life to the fullest. So what did we do special today-went out to dinner-not a big special but we were just thankful we were both here and able to do it. Yesterday I got my nails done and my hair highlighted and trimmed. Made me feel so much better especially my hair- I actually have hair this year, and its curly-never had curly hair in my life. Have to see the positives!!! hugs, Sandy

Congratulations!!!
Sandy, Congratulations to you and your husband on 33 years! With or without breast cancer to contend with, 33 years of marriage is something to celebrate. I'm so glad that you have had the loving support from him to help you along this journey. So happy for you for all of that and your hair, too.

WOW!!! Brings tears to my eyes..There are still happily marrieds out there!! My husband and I have been married 16 years..we were just kids when we got married...20...you're right we had no concept of how serious those vows would be one day!!! So glad you had hair for your anniversary!! When you don't have hair for a period of time you sure do appreciate it...whether it's a bad hair day or not!!
Wishing you many many more hair filled years with your hubby!!!

Congratulations, Sandy! Time does fly. There aren't many good things about having BC or any illness, but we do learn to appreciate each other and life more. May you have 33 more anniversaries! Hugs, Tricia

Congratulations Sandy! October will bring my 25th anniversary, and I can't wait. I know that I would not have made it through the first chemo that I took without him by my side.
