My neighbor's sister-in-law contacted me several months ago. She hadn't had a brain MRI until there were many mets. She had WBR, but by April, she was going in for gammaknife treatments to get mets that were still around. She was scared.

Two days ago, I was told she'd been put in Hospice because of the mets went down her spine--just like our friend Mary. They apparently tried all they could, but yesterday she succumbed to tremendous pain and crossed over.

If you have ANY doubts about getting a brain MRI--symptoms or not--please seriously consider it. Hell, just do it! There's NO reason for your onc to say no.

Love and light to Chris on the other side,

Lisa

Are you recommending this for everyone (I was diagnosed at Stage IIA) or just higher stages etc.

I see my onco Friday (I have weekly Herceptin because of the trial and had been only 4 months out of chemo) and see my onco every fourth treatment so....

Thanks for all the advice and help

Dear Lisa,

I am so sorry to hear of your about your friend's passing. I have my MRI's done in thanks to you encouraging all of us from the moment I started on this board. I get them every 6 months. Thank you.

Your dedication and continued support and thoughtfulness has always been a blessing to us all. Thank you again for the reminder to us all.
Take Care. LOL k

We know that an increasingly large percentage of women with METS will have brain mets. Especially since we're living longer.

It's a tough call for you. If your onc is giving you regular CT scans, then yes definitely include a brain MRI (better than CT).

Talk to your onc about it, and follow your intuition.

Love and light,

Lisa
