addendum to the xeloda / HER1 / brain mets
Sorry Patty (and girls), I did forget one critical piece of information. After Linda was dx with brain mets and tx with wbr (the Allos trial), we immediately put her on Tarceva (+ herceptin), with is a very powerful HER1 (EGFR) inhibitor. We know she was strongly HER1+++ as one of the side effects of most EGFRI's is a rash, this I believe includes Tykerb. Linda looked like she had the chicenpox. She had 5 weeks of it but it didn't help her. I still wonder about what else was at play here.
