Has anyone had this happen? How long did it last?

I have registered moderate SUV numbers (values 2.5 - 2.9) 6 - 7 months after surgery "adjacent" to each of my surgical sites. My markers are well within normal range. Though, they were always normal, even when diagnosed in Stage IV.

My Oncologist is watching closely and performing clinical followup (e.g., further testing and biopsies).

Margo, what does a "SUV" stand for?

SUV - Standard Uptake Value. It is the uptake value of FDG (in my case), which is a metabolic indicator. Generally, cancer cells have a higher metabolic rate than normal cells. PET scans identify higher metabolic rates. PET is best when used for staging your cancer.
