Re: thymic rebound???

gqmom

Hi, I just read your post about thymic rebound. I, too, was classified as having this. There are nodules they are keeping an eye on within my lung and thus on a ct scan all of a sudden they are reporting on my thymus. Like you, I was taken back. But since that report, the thymus has started to shrink back to it's non existent state. I think it happens, not very frequently, but it does happen. My uneducated take on it was that the chemo must activate the thymus, which is active in the childhood years, to kick in a fight too. This showed up on my scan about 2-3 months after finishing FAC and I was clearly told it was thymic rebound and nothing else. And this has proven true now 2 years out. There is very little data about this happening as it is quite rare. Nevertheless, still happens to a few of us. Please don't worry
