Re: targeting bc stem cells with cancer preventative s curcumin and piperine

Hi Rich,

I have always been trying to firm up my opinions regarding curcumin use during chemo, as chemo often works by creating free radicals. Here is an article that may shed some light on that question. It relates to curcumin's ability as a radiosensitizer,
but discusses free radical promotion as well. Other research suggests that it acts as a powerful radiosensitizer in the treatment of many forms of cancer. At this time I am of the opinion (based on research), that curcumin should be used during radiation therapy, but should not (at least yet) be used during traditional chemotherapy. I would add that I feel it is fine to use it during Herceptin therapy. As always, these are just my opinions based on the research I read.
