Hello everyone,
You are amazing people. This is the best site I've ever seen for BC support. I think all of you with this great attitude can move moutains. Cancer has got wrong bodies and sooner or later (I hope sooner) has to leave you forever.
I'm 49. DX Dec.2004 at 48. IBC ( one oncologist did'nt agree, the panel said it is IBC?!) several tumors, HER2 3+ hormon Negative, skin mets, very aggressive, grade 3, Node positive, I don't know how many, I never did node surgery, it showed on Pet Scan and they could feel by examination (2 nodes). I did AC+Taxotere dose dense X6 every 2 weeks. 12 days after the last chemo, I did simple mastectomy left breast. And then 19 rads.
I decided against node surgery, I'm very active, mountain climbing and hiking. One onc. supported my decision. The others want me to do the surgery.
I asked for Herceptin from day one (I'm from Canada, BC), they did'nt give it to me. Finaly after Orlando conference, they decided to give it to me.
I already had one and I'll have the second next week.
Do you think I made a right decision?
