To Julie on my Oncologist's Response

When I saw my oncologist yesterday he said he "would consider" my request for the 12 Taxol and 12 Herceptin treatments but he encouaged me to take time to enjoy myself on my planned trips and cruise this summer. That is what he initially said when I requested off label Herceptin a year ago. He did however, write the order for a second year of Herceptin. I see him again on July 14 and I will pursue the topic again with him. I am sure he will talk it over with other oncologists who practice with him at the Virginia Piper Cancer Center during the next month. I was HER2 positive 6.9% with a 3.5 cm tumor and one node positive and finished my dose dense on May 26, 2004 and 8/9 on the NAS.
