No one said that hercepting DOESN'T prevent recurrances. What we say is that there is "no evidence" yet that it can prevent a recurrence. And by THAT, we mean that the data has not been reduced to a report yet. But there is anecdotal evidence all over the place that herceptin IS helpful in preventing a recurrence. I do think though that if you have no positive nodes, you are going to be fighting an uphill battle to get herceptin in a trial OR off-trial. But if I were you, I would WANT it. I would push for it with all my might. Just because cancer isn't found in the lymph nodes doesn't mean that it hasn't spread through the tumor's blood supply. I am almost THANKFUL that I had two positive nodes, so I was given every treatment that I asked for.

I would push for it....
