4 years at Stage IV.

Another cancerversary.... Hard to believe it has been so long. After a bad first year in 2012, I have been stable on Herceptin and Tamoxifen. I have been living well, with only the irritating side-effects of watery eyes, shockingly brittle nails, runny nose and the world's longest menopause. No significant changes to my life style - I have always eaten reasonably healthily and exercised regularly. Lots of travel, reading, films and probably more wine than is good for me....
However, I get so sick of living in Cancerville and hate my recently installed port - literally sticks out like a sore thumb! Caught between the Sword of Damocles feeling and "guilt" for surviving when so many others don't.
Occasional whinge aside, I am happy to have reached this milestone and hope to follow in the footsteps of some of our long-lived sisters on this site.
