We are very pleased with Barbs response to Perjeta/Herceptin/Taxotere. She had her second treatment on 2/6 and side effects seem minimal at this time just a little stomach ache according to her. I never know what to think, she such a trooper, she could be in great pain and wouldnt tell us a thing. Our second opinion went about as I expected the doctors we talked to at Presbyterian felt she was right where she needed to be as far as treatment. We have always been a little uneasy with sticking close to home but they felt we wouldnt be getting anything different at Duke or Chapel Hill . Her Onco here in Shelby really does think outside the box and with the help of this wonderful site and you all we've been able to steer him towards somethings that are best for her. We did meet with a younger Dr. that felt if and when the Perjeta stops working he has some trials to try at his office

he leans more towards avoiding chemo altogether because of the damage to the immune system and going with inhibitors. So for now we pray that Perjeta is the so called magic bullet for Barb. She really is feeling well and eating better than she has in a while. Hopefully we can get some weight back on her. Ill say it again We sooooo appreciate this site and you all who contribute you really are a blessing.
