Been a WHILE since my last post
So I have been trying to get back to Texas, my divorce is finally over, all I have left to do is fight over child support and the right to move back to Texas with the kids. I have a new man, who is WONDERFUL! So what's the bad part you might say?
I was taking Tykerb and Xeloda for almost a year in Feb., when I got a blood clot in the vessle that my port is in. Since my liver tumor was gone since November, my onc said he didn't want to put me through trying to balance Coumadin and Xeloda. So he said, "Let's try you on Tykerb alone!" I thought, GREAT! Then last week, I found out with my 3-month liver scan, that one of my old spots that was the largest from Dec. 2005 - was BACK! I was pretty floored that it wasn't the tumor from my 2nd recurrance. To complicate matters, I found out that we had been worried about a liver spot since Dec. 2005 that was actually a hemangioma. WHY can't they tell the difference? They kept think it was scar tissue. When the 2nd liver recurrance happened, it was nestled right next to that hemangioma, and it took a NEW radiologist to figure out that the reason that tumor wasn't shrinking since December 2005, was because it wasn't cancer! So intersetingly, they went back and figured out that I was NED since Nov. 2007, and decided to try me on just the Tykerb.
So now, I get PET scan on Saturday, Brain MRI tomorrow. And I am freaked out. I haven't ever had to worry about my brain, and now I feel like I am constantly noticing a feeling of 'light-headedness'. I don't know what to think about it. I'm still taking Coumadin, and hoping that it's JUST the blood thinners. But I also seem to be having a hard time concentrating and reading. I feel like I'm always tired too. Do any of you experienced women have any ideas or theories that can keep me from panicing till I get my results?
I'm usually so calm, but with the new man building us a house in Texas - I'm terriffied! I guess I wouldn't be so scared if I didn't love my life so much! Thanks in advance Ladies!
