Anyone heard of Pazopanib?
I've been lurking on this website for about a year. I have learned so much (much more than from my oncologist!), and appreciate this site very much! The collective experiences and wisdom on this site are priceless. At age 36, I was diagnosed with breast cancer (in April, 2007), with mets to my liver. Eight rounds of taxotere plus herceptin knocked the mets out of my liver, and I am now NED. I just had my 6-month check-up MRI of my liver, and I get the results on Mon. (July 21). I am very nervous that mets have returned, since I've had an inconsistent ache on my right side just below the rib cage (I'm assuming it's my liver) for the past 3 weeks. I called the office of my second opinion doctor, and they said if I have recurred, it is recommended that I join a clinical trial for Pazopanib. I have never heard of this drug, and the internet searches I have done have not revealed much. It doesn't appear that it has been trialled with breast cancer very much (from what I can find out). Has anyone heard of this, or heard of any results with this drug? Of course I'm wondering if I should just try a different chemo (I'm currently on maintenance Herceptin and Tamoxifen). I will talk to my regular onc about all this on Mon, but wondering if any of that collective wisdom can help me? Thanks in advance!!
