Happy Valentine's Day to all....
Things have been crazy over the last few weeks. I caught a cold. For most people this is no big deal; but for my compromised immune system, this was not a good thing. It took nearly two weeks to get over it. Once I got better, I then broke out in hives. The itchiness was unbearable!! My onc put me on a Medrol (steroid) pack, and that cured the hives. All this put my treatments on hold. So, on Monday I FINALLY started Xeloda (chemo pills). I'll be taking this for one week on and one week off. I also got my monthly Fasoladex shot and yesterday, I got Herceptin. It's been a long time since I got Herceptin. They gave me Benadryl and Decadron as pre-meds. Benadryl put me to sleep, and Decadron kept me awake all night long. So far so good though. I feel pretty good and seem to be handling the Xeloda pretty well. My heart is great (got a MUGA) done last week. So that's it on the health front for now. You all remain in my prayers and thanks to all that keep me in their thoughts and prayers....Love to all!! Maryann
