Pushed off on NP?
Many of you know this nightmare I have been having with my onc not examing me or anwswering my questions. Plus I have been *literally forced* to stay with this onc rather I like it or not. I am not allowed to change. Now not only does my onc refuse to exam me, her newest thing is to push me off on the NP. The NP is nice...but she does NOT have the knowledge or yrs of experience in onc as a real oncologist. I don't feel its right to *make* me see the NP and have to pay a co-pay of $30.00 dollars. Techically she is not a doctor yet.
I found a message on my machine yesterday saying my onc wants me to see the NP this Tues. I am not going to pay $30.00 for the NP again! My onc pulls me off my hormonal protection...now she pushes me off on the NP...I don't think this is right! The NP doesn't do anything for me...legally do we HAVE to see a NP? I sure would NOT think so. If my onc is TOO BUSY to see me...then WHY can't I change onc? I am beyond frustrated. Why is there NO help out there for me to straighten this out? (No one deserves this!)

9-28-09 Loading dose of Herceptin & started Zometa
9-29-09 Power Port Placement
10-24-09 Mass 6.4 x 4.7 cm on Rt. femur head.
11-19-09 RT. Femur surgery - Rod placed
12-7-09 Navelbine added to Herceptin/Zometa.
3-23-10 Ten days of rads to RT femur. Completed.
4-05-10 Quit Navelbine--Herceptin/Zometa alone.
5-4-10 Appt. with Dr. Slamon to see what is next? Waiting on FISH results from femur biopsy.
Results to FISH was unsuccessful--this happens less then 2% of the time.
7-7-10 Recurrence to RT axilla again. Back to UCLA for options.
