Joe,
I dont know how to post. I have been visiting this webite since my daughter Sherry was dx april 04 with breast with innumerable mets to her liver. In Nov. 04 she was dx with innumerable mets to brain. she had wbr, clinical trial with tykerb and then xeloda and herceptin which kept her stable for 11 months.
I want you to post this for me as I hope some of the brave ladies who are dealing with cns mets might benefit from what happened to her. On dec. 06, she gave up the long battle and went on to join her other brave sisters on the other side. It was not the brain mets, not the breast or liver mets that brought her down. but, we could find no way to treat the two mets in her spinal cord. They had been there since Nov. 04, and should have been radiated or cyberknifed long ago. No one told us how dangerous they could be. One was on c2 and other was on c4. both 1 or 1.50 cms. If you have any lesions on your spinal cord do not WAIT. Get them treated aside from your other mets. By the time she had symptoms it was too late. ;she was driving the middle of Nov. and Dec. 10 she was gone. This site was a blessing the us. bless all of you, gail prince, mother and advocate for the late Sherry Ciabattoni.5-10-62, 12-10-06 My heart is broken.
From Thankful
