Good news!!!
I wish to share the good news with eveyone of you out there.
I had a PET/TC scan on Jan. 24, it was the first check point after the surgery and end of chemo - Taxotere/Herceptin from Aug. 3 to Dec. 6, 2005; since then and till July, I am on Herceptin alone.
I had to travel to Milan, in the north of Italy, by train - 5 hours to and 5 hours from and inbetween the PET. Let me say just that Jan. 24 has relly been a tough day. I had to go there because in Rome (capital of the country) there are only two machines in just one hospital, and I would have had to wait for 2 TWO months... There are PET/Tc scans machines in Genua (4 months wait), Turin (6 months), Naples (dunno, but at least one month wait), and in a few little hospitals in the north of the country (about 15 days wait). And we Italy are supposed to be in the G8....
Well this is not the good news obviously ;o)
Anyway, I got the results by fedex on Jan. 26, and it says that it's gone......!!!!!! They cut small 5mm. slices of me, and there's nothing. Nix, nada, niente!
YUPPIIIIIIIII!!!!!!
It also says that my response to Herceptin is OPTIMAL - Yupppiii again!!!!!
I post only now, because soon after having had the news, I left for a skiing holiday, badly needed due to extreme stress... I tested my goretex sternum protesis, very helpful on the snow!!! Goretex inside and outside, I have never skiied so well!!!!
Praise to the Lord - and thank you for the kind thoughts and the encouragement you shared.
Even if it's now two weeks since the news, I am still so happy I sing alone and smile all the time...
Oh, I do hope that my joy will pass through these words to all of you, and bring you strenght and hope and love and encouragement...
