tykerb price

I was talking to another oncologist in my group of doctors and she mentioned that combinig herceptin and tykerb would be very pricey. Does anyone know the price of tykerb (or a place I could find it) I wonder if my insurance would cover both drugs at the same time. When approved I was going to ask, my onc to put me on both, but I could not if insurance would not cover it.

Laurie, I don't think they know the cost yet where it is not released. Being a new drug I am sure it will be pricey! It will be for several years until something else comes out. The insurance probably will have a set amount it will pay another reason to have a high price. Will have to wait and see. hugs, Sandy

My Oncologist told me that they would just have to send in some paper work but he didn't forsee any problems with me getting tykerb added to my herceptin. I sure as heck hope not, those little pills are probably going to be like gold...sherryg683
