Thanks for the clarification JoJo,
Linda was diagnosed Oct 31, 2003. Her tumor was so large we opted for down-sizing the tumor with AC & T and then surgery.
Her liver mets were first seen as 2 small lesions 2 weeks into her AC treatment. About !/2 way through her Taxol (2 months), a third spot showed-up but it was also dismissed as "imaging variations".
Linda hd a lumpectomy 4 weeks after chemo stopped, clear margins, and started rads shortly after that. After her third rad session she got so sick I took her to the hospital. The result: 75% - 80% of her liver was cancerous and he gave her 2 weeks to live if she didn't respond to the chemo asap.
The next day she jaundiced, 4 weeks later she was in the hospital with severe sepsis in her (surgery) breast and was as yellow as a post-it note.
Her disease has actually been stable since July 2004, in fact her blood counts last week, (that includes CBC and total blood chemistry), were the best they've been in over one year. She is currently on herceptin + xeloda.
She was stable on herceptin + navelbine for 9 months but in order to qualify for the U of Washington vaccine trial, she had to reduce her tumor load. The navelbine stopped the cancer but regression was limited to maybe 5%. We are mor optimistic this time around.
That's a long story short.
Regards,
Al
