Hello Vicki P,

Is this your 1st recurrence?

I see that you are currently taking Cisplatin. Is it the same as Carboplatin? Excuse my ignorance! :-)

Thanks.

Yes they are alike. I have also taken carboplatin with herceptin..
This is my third time out of remission..I have been fighting breast cancer for 8 years..I am doing very well..I have breast cancer spot in my liver..
I am truly always laughing..I wake up every day and am just glad to be here..Always positive, never a doubt in my mind..I will be in remission again soon..
Hang in there girl,it does get better..
I refuse to even have negative people around me..
Laugh,laugh,laugh,then laugh somemore..
How are you ? Is it your first time? Do you have a support group around you..And are they all positive...
Cancer is state of mind..Laugh and live..Cry and die..Live it girl..

Dear Vicki,
You give us great hope with your positive post. I hope to be around for a long time. I try not to think about living just till my middle daughter grad. next year. I have many other goals. I turn 50 and my 25th wedding anniversary is in 2006. I'd like to go to Hawaii to celebrate both instead of having a party. My youngest daughter grad. in 2009. She was 7 months old when I was first diagnosed in 1991. She has been the most supportive of any of my children through this. I won't let her down. I will be there when she graduates. I try not to think about not recovering. It is good to know that other people have survived this disease long term and so can I. Actually I already have survived a long time, 13 years and counting! Blessings, Lu Ann.
