				My 2nd birthday!!!

Half way through yesterday, I realized it was my 2nd birthday (since the bone marrow transplant); and I started to cry. It was a weird moment because so many feelings/memories came rushing back, but I had also nearly forgotten the day. So, my DNA is 27 (my donor was 25 + 2) but my body is 45 (feels more like 90). I guess I just want everyone that is feeling sorry for themselves to realize things can always be worse, so count your blessings!! Things do get better...If you had asked my doctor then, I am so not suppose to be here now. Fooled them all....Keep smiling, laughing and loving!!!

Maryann, That is wonderful. Big congratulations on your bone marrow Birthday...two yrs already! Woo hoo...way to go. I can only imagine the emotions that hit you when you realized it. You've been through alot and come so far. It can't be said enough on what a true inspiration you are to all of us.

And I certainly hear you loud and clear when it comes to "counting my blessings". All of your doctors old and new must be blown away by you. I'm sure most of them just keep scratching their heads wondering what the deal is with you. Things slow you down at times...but not for long and your up and full speed ahead. You are just absolutely amazing.

Again...BIG CONGRATULATIONS...go out and celebrate if you can fit that into your already crazy non-stop schedule. lol Your always in my thoughts and prayers...and here's to another 50 plus some bone marrow Birthdays to come. Enjoy!

Chelee

Diagnosed stage 2b in July 2003 (2.3 cm, HER2+, ER-/PR-, 7+ nodes). Treated with mastectomy (with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction), AC + T/Herceptin (off label). Cancer advanced to lung in Jan. 2007 (1 cm nodule). Started Herceptin every 3 weeks. Lung wedge resection April 2007. Cancer recurred in lung April 2008. RFA of lung in August 2008. 2nd annual brain MRI in Oct. 2008 discovered 2.6 cm cystic tumor in left frontal lobe. Craniotomy Oct. 2008 (ER-/PR-/HER2-) followed by targeted radiation (IMRT). Coughing up blood Feb. 2009. Thoractomy July 2009 to cut out fungal ball of common soil fungus (aspergillus) that grew in the RFA cavity (most likely inhaled while gardening). No cancer, only fungus. Removal of tiny melanoma from upper left arm, plus sentinel lymph node biopsy in Feb. 2016. Guardant Health liquid biopsy in Feb. 2016 showed mutations in 4 subtypes of TP53. Repeat of Guardant Health biopsy in Jana. 2021 showed 3 TP53 mutations, BRCA1 mutation and CHEK2 mutation. Invitae genetic testing showed negative for all of these. Living with MBC since 2007. Stopped Herceptin Hylecta (injection) treatment in March 2020. Recent 2023 annual CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis and annual brain MRI showed NED. Praying for NED forever!!

Thanks everyone. Come January, I'll be posting that it is my 9 year anniversary since being diagnosed with bc, so I guess I have 3 birthdays altogether. I do love parties and celebrations, but I don't want anymore birthdays/anniversaries like these...
