Update regarding T-DM1 Study
I've had (3) treatments of the T-DM1 study drug, and it has shown to be very powerful! Three months ago there were activity in my liver and lymph nodes in my back. I just got my PET/CT scan results and I'm happy to report all (5) lesions are not present in my liver, and the nodes are clean.
Everyday we come closer to a cure!

Verna what great news
and just only 3 cycles. I am so happy for you my friend.
I guess you are getting ready for the Pink Dragon Ladies Paddle race. You are one amazing lady..... I dont know how you do it.
I really would love to come back to the club and actually get to paddle in a competition. This has been a tough year for me and am just now getting to feel a little stronger. I was in the hospital for 3 days due to critically low white counts and some fever so I had to go in to be sure that there was not an infection going on.
I just came back from my third cycle of IXPEPRA/XELODA and I will be scanning in about 3 weeks and we will see what is happening. I ran into Cassandra at the oncs office. She looks great.
Hope we can get together soon for lunch . Let me know what is good for you.
Take care

RFA of lung in August 2008. 2nd annual brain MRI in Oct. 2008 discovered 2.6 cm cystic tumor in left frontal lobe. Craniotomy Oct. 2008 (ER-/PR-/HER2-) followed by targeted radiation (IMRT). Coughing up blood Feb. 2009. Thoractomy July 2009 to cut out fungal ball of common soil fungus (aspergillus) that grew in the RFA cavity (most likely inhaled while gardening). No cancer, only fungus. Removal of tiny melanoma from upper left arm, plus sentinel lymph node biopsy in Feb. 2016. Guardant Health liquid biopsy in Feb. 2016 showed mutations in 4 subtypes of TP53. Repeat of Guardant Health biopsy in Jana. 2021 showed 3 TP53 mutations, BRCA1 mutation and CHEK2 mutation. Invitae genetic testing showed negative for all of these. Living with MBC since 2007. Stopped Herceptin Hylecta (injection) treatment in March 2020. Recent 2023 annual CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis and annual brain MRI showed NED. Praying for NED forever!!

Verna,
That's GREAT news. It's funny, I just responded to a private email telling how Caryn has also had a great response on the weekly version of this drug. Caryn's tm's came down from 1700+ to 900+ after only 3 treatements as well!!! Great stuff, let's hope it get's only better for her , you and all the other wonderful people still on this drug.
