Healthy tip!

Good Morning! Here is another healthy tip for the day. I love these so will have to eat more of them. hugs, Sandy

RealAge Tip of the DAY for March 19, 2007

Beans may be a near-perfect health food -- especially if they're red.

We already know that beans are a great source of fiber and vegetable protein. But red kidney beans are also stellar when it comes to packing an antioxidant punch. In fact, red beans are right up there with blueberries when it comes to total antioxidant value. So brighten up your salads and stews by tossing in some crimson-colored beauties. Here's an easy Taco Salad recipe to get you started.

Pie for breakfast

Gee, I wonder how kidney beans and blueberries would taste together? Blended into a dip. Probably not good, but who knows. I am actually going to try it.

Seriously though, I can't wait for blueberries to become cheaper. I buy ready-made frozen piecrust at the health food store. I toss berries, peaches, etc. with splenda (1/4 cup because I dont like pies too sweet), One tablespoon corn starch, a little nutmeg and that's it. Bake for 40 minutes at 425.
I eat pie for breakfast!
