Hopes I Did The Right Thing

Well, I hope I did the right thing. I had my PET/CT scan 2 weeks ago. All came back fine EXCEPT for a node lighting up in my left arm pit (bc was right side NOT left) Onc. and surgeon felt it was nothing and should ignore it but if I wasn't comfortable with that I could have my left arm pit area ultrasounded (word?) So I did. The Dr. found 3 lymph nodes in the area in question. The node she felt lit up looked fine to her, however, there was a smaller node with a little bit of a "thicker cortex or vortex (not sure what word she used) but really wasn't convinced it was "anything" either. She went and got my surgeon who also looked and she also wasn't convinced that it was anything to panic over. The main question at this point was "do we stick a needle in it to biopsy it or not?" Neither one of them would say yes or no just kind of hee"d" and haw"d" around. I finally said "can't we just watch it and have another ultrasound in a few months?" They agreed with that option and I will be having another ultra sound in 4 months in that area. I surely hope I made the right decision. Kind of scary the "wait and see" method but that's what I felt comfortable with. I really didn't want to stick a needle in the node. Just didn't.

Just wanted to share with others who know what this journey is like and knows the roller coaster ride we experience.

Continued Prayer

Mary Jo:

I really HATE this roller coaster that everyone is on. You have been and will continue to be in my prayers. It is probably nothing but now you have this worry on your mind for the next few months until you check it again. Lots of prayers. God is good!

Maybe I'm wrong but........

Hi,

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I thought that if there was anything in the lymph nodes that it came from somewhere else, that masses didn't originate in the nodes themselves initially.

I am sure there is someone in the group that knows more about this?

Best to you All,

Donna
