coworker

I got to talk to my coworker today that was diagnosed back in September with cancer in her lungs, liver, lymph nodes and adrenal glands. She'd had 4 of 6 rounds of treatments and had scans on Dec 28, went to see her onc yesterday. She said it is not showing in her lungs anymore and that in her liver is almost gone. She also said that her lymph nodes were negative right now. But how does having it in lymph nodes and glands affect whether she is ned or not? Don't your lymph nodes take it elsewhere in the body?

If she goes for scans and they come back clean in all areas, then she is NED. She has already got the worst of it beaten down..with her lungs clear and her liver almost gone. Most of us have some lymph nodes that were positive at one time. I had 13+...they were pretty easy to take care of. Lymph nodes act as a filtering device to catch the cancer before it spreads (like a spider wed catching a spider). Of course, once it spreads theres a chance it will come back..but you have to take it one step at a time..sherryg683
