Thumbs down Found a new lump

No, no, no, say it can't be true. I found a lump in my OTHER breast yesterday. It is very painful to touch, just under the areaola. I have a mamogram scheduled for Tuesday. Jeez, I just got done with chemo, had my first herceptin and haven't even gone to radiation yet.

I am scared, and I am unhappy

Love to All

Hang on there, perhaps it is just a cyst or fibrocystic tissue...I am hoping and praying for you that is what it is. Geezzz is right, this disease is scary and frightening and I don't know if that ever completely goes away. Good luck, will be praying for you. Please let it be good news and not bad. Let us know.

Dear Susan,

I can sooooooooooooooo relate to your fears. The day before my radiation was to be finished I got a call from my surgeon saying that there was a questionable area of calcification in my other breast (found through a mamoo) and they wanted to do a stereotactic biopsy of it. Oh geez! I just cried and cried and couldn't believe it. I thought HOW COULD I HAVE CANCER AFTER JUST COMPLETING 8 CYCLES OF CHEMO. Well, thankfully, ALL CAME BACK BENIGN and I was the happiest girl in the world. HOWEVER, at that point I made the decision to have my other breast removed and my insurance approved it. My surgeon didn't fight me on it at all as she knew from the get go that having both breasts removed is really what I wanted. After this scare I think she really agreed with me.

So, I am now breastless and happy as can be.

God be with you and I'm sure it is nothing.

Mary Jo

I hope this turns out to be nothing. Try not to worry (ha ha I know that's easier said than done!) But you've been through plenty already and are due for a break and good news. Hoping it will be just that - good news.

Hang in there
Chris

SusanV,

I have followed the story of your courageous fight since you started posting. For you to have to deal with this new scare is so unfair. I admire the way you have dealt with your illness and your spirit. You will be in my thoughts. Here's to good news come Wednesday!

I so know what your going thru. 10 months after my DX, the other breast showed a questionable area. Not only no, but hell no I wasn't going thru this again. SO, I had a Simple Mastectony done on that side. I was already thru Chemo and Rad's and was into Herceptin when this happened.

Susan V,

Sorry to hear that you have a lump in your other breast. As hard as it is please try and remain positive. Most breast cancers are not painful. It could any number of things. I'll keep you in my prayers. Please keep us posted.
