Post-Herceptin: When Does the Fog Roll Out?

Hi Everyone,

I finished my last three-weekly herceptin a little over three weeks ago. I am so relieved, since I think that the herceptin was making me really thick. This semester I have been giving almost the exact same lectures that I gave at this time last year, but am finding that I just can't get my head around the topics like I could when I started herceptin a year ago. I hope the students don't notice.

If anyone has finished herceptin and found that the fog lifted, I would love to know when this happened.

Hi Christine,

I never really felt any "fog" being on herceptin. Now, chemo, mainly A/C - that was a different story. I do notice some aches and pains with herceptin but think those probably are residual from the taxol. Who the heck knows. I finished my herceptin October 11, so really close to you. Is feeling great - and pray for no disease EVER AGAIN - like we all do.

Hi Christine:

Wow you too, have the herceptin fog- I thought ( any many around me) that I was nuts) I have onemore treatment left 11/1 - my onc says it takes three months for this stuff to leave your system - so hang in there - please keep us all iformed on how you are feelig - would beinterested to know when you started feeling the symptoms abate.
Did you suffer any ither symptons which you attributed to the herceptain?
