Surviving This Cancer Art Exhibit
The digital art that I did during treatment will be on display in an exhibit called Surviving this Cancer. The art on the web page to the survivor show was done by me.
Kathleen Galipeau, the owner of the gallery and a survivor herself, would be interested in hearing from other artists. This gallery is located in Claremont, California.
Although my art is digital art, she is displaying other types of art. Feel free to contact her directly. Her email address is at the bottom of this message.

"Check out our web site at http://www.artloft205.com and go to Featured Artist to see info on Reinas Show and other Art Loft 205 upcoming events also the http://www.survivingthiscancer.com website is now under construction. We are now pretty confident the Survivor Show will be in November most likely the second week. If you are a cancer survivor, a caregiver to a cancer patient or have lost someone to cancer, and you have expressed your feelings on this through your art, you may submit the work to be in the show. Submit your entries via e-mail or USPS or walk-in by October 15. Although we would love to show all the work you may submit, we have limited space so we will be selective on which work gets in the show. Some of you have work we have already chosen. I anticipate you will need to deliver the work around November 1, 2007. So for those procrastinators that are working on a piece......well you know who you are......
You may also refer other artists who have work that qualifies to participate in the show. Have them contact me as soon as possible.
Have a Great September,
Kathleen Galipeau

Bonnie, as a fellow artist, let me compliment you on that incredible piece. Very evocative.
I don't live too far from Claremont and have done a few pieces since being diagnosed. Maybe I will contact the gallery. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Looking forward to seeing more of the exhibit!

Kimberly, from what I can see of your art, it's very colorful and beautiful. It was a very healing thing to do the art and I think it helped keep me together.

Surviving This Cancer Exhibit
The Artists’ Reception for Surviving This Cancer was held this Saturday evening in <st1><st1:city w:st="on">Claremont</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">CA</st1:state></st1>, and there was a good attendance. Bonnie R, also from this group, showed her work. I enjoyed meeting her face-to-face, as well as seeing her work, which was beautiful.

If anyone is interested in visiting Art Loft 205, the exhibit will continue until November 30. They have posted some of my work and one of Bonnie R’s pieces on the web site they’ve set up for this exhibit. I have to say it was very moving seeing all the pieces of art done in response to such a devastating and life-changing disease. I know that expressing myself with art was comforting and helped me through treatment and the events in my life that happened during that time.

Thanks Bonnie! Your work was so powerful! And it was moving to meet both survivors and others who have been affected by this disease.
Also in attendance was Barbara Jo Kirshbaum. She has walked in the Avon Walks for Breast Cancer 85 times!! She is 68 years old and one beautiful woman. She has raised almost one million dollars! she is not a survivor herself but has made this her cause....
