Three years ago I had taxol, carboplatin, and herceptin 3 weeks on and one off. I was given a smaller dose then the once every three week schedule. This worked well to bring tumor markers down and keep active bone mets stable. I also had zometa monthly for bone mets.

Herceptin weekly
Hi Sherry: I do herceptin every three weeks, the onc said that it does not matter the frequency, but the dosage does. I see some women on this site that do Herceptin weekly. Have you asked your doctor why weekly as opossed to every three weeks. Also what's the dosage for you/ Is it based on your weight? Thank you.

Had both
My first treatment was DD, weekly Adriamycin for 12 weeks. (Believe me - I never thought THAT would end!)
Followed by 4 Taxotere 3 weeks apart.
When treated for mets, it was weekly for 7 months until I reached what looked like (and was) NED.
Then went on the 3 week dose of Herceptin.
Are you compiling a chart, Rhonda??

No, I'm not, just curious. Don't really know what point a chart would be as treatment is ALWAYS changing and what we had is now obsolete. Take care and God bless.

Hi Rhonda,
Starting last March, I had AC chemo every three weeks, although my 3rd and 4th sessions were deferred by one week due to low white counts. Taxol was also every three weeks, with no delays. I am now on Herceptin every three weeks for a year and Tamoxifen daily. My onc didn't even suggest DD therapy, I don't know why. Maybe it just isn't standard treatment here in Canada, as much as it is in the U.S.
