Hi Nikki -
Glad to see you are checking around and facing up to what has been dropped on you.
I think we all go through a period of time where we become a little robot-like as we begin to understand the implications of our collective disease. It does take some getting used to!
Did you decide on a path to take regarding the trial offered and your reconstruction schedule? Getting some more things "settled" will take you a step farther away from the initial shock.
One way I took charge of my body was to do everything I could to take off the "toxic load" from everyday air, food and liquid intake. I even avoided things like cleaners that have bad fumes. This way I figured my body could spend more resources dealing with my cancer, should it reoccur. It did, but I had a quick and dramatic response and can sit here to tell you about it. If you find a way to take charge that you really believe gives you an edge, this is the thing to do.
Some turn closer to religion, some learn hypnotherapy or guided imagery, some get regular massages, some enjoy nature more - whatever it takes to give you that boost. Being happy and not blaming yourself is big step in the right direction.
Wishing you the power of healing!
