				trivial subject: my new eyebrow..

Okay I got new eyebrow done in semi permant tattoe today and in 1 hour taddamm all done!!

and they are beautiful, very nicely shaped (better than I have ever had them) they look really natural (hairstroke style i.e. fine hairline drawn with micropigmentation) and blends in with the few one I have.

Cost was £200 (used me as a model for trainning otherwise it is more) but it last a year or more and I can throw away those pencils and can emerge from the sea/bed/shower confident and not having to hide: priceless..

I am having eyelash enhancement (small dark dot in between lashes to look fuller) on monday so I hope that the result is as good..

Thought I would share..

PS: If you do it go to a pro and do your homework..

Not trivia at all....it is all about feeling good and looking as good as we can....so good for you and I am glad your eyebrow enhancement turned out so well.

A thought to share with you...have you heard about Latisse? It is a new FDA approved med to grow natural lashes...

 http://www.reflectionscenter.com/fre...FVRM5QodD0BaHQ

I have given it some thought as my lashes are still thin.
I have heard the cost is $125.

Good Luck with the lashes!

		Hi Beans!

Thanks for the report.
Do you have a photo??

I have been having to mess with my lopsided eyebrows and would love to have my natural ones back. Jean is so right that our "looks" DO help our self image, which gets trashed pretty bad through cancer treatment ...

Latisse-2 Thumbs Up: trivial subject: my new eyebrow..

		I've tried Latisse & I LOVE IT!
I'd lost my eyelashes completely on 2 occassions of treatment & the new lashes that grew in afterwards are/were pretty wimpy & stubby.
My sister gave me one of her extra bottles of Latisse. I'm not very compliant about dosing-ie: supposed to use it every night, but I usually remember every 3rd day or so. After 8 weeks I have seen a major improvement!

This 1st wave of lashes that have grown in are kind of spikey, with a few longer ones among others, overall, they're all growing well. I understand that as you continue use, everything will thicken up.
Oh & my sister even brushed a bit on her eyebrows & they've filled in too.

This drug is actually a glaucoma drug - I used to do glaucoma clinical research & remember having to inform patients about the side effect of longer eyelashes!
I wish all drugs had such a lovely SE!

I have brown eyes, but havent observed/experienced the hyperpigmentation around the iris as described, or skin irritation. I think the less frequent application has helped prevent SE's, yet I'm still experiencing the benefits.

Try it. You'll love it I hope~

Not trivial at all. I was more upset about the loss of eyebrows and lashes than I was about being bald. I was lucky -- everything grew back.

Re: trivial subject: my new eyebrow..

Yes indeed felt nice this morning to wake up with some eyebrows hehe..thanks all of you lovely ladies for your imput,
and thanks for agreeing Steph I 'll send you a pic direct!

Other yes latisse.. as I said in other post I am in two minds about this. Allergan are also the maker of Botox also FDA approved, so is trans fat: FDA approved.. not a label of safety by no means..

Sorry I know that the benefit is for many outweighting the risk and as individual everyone should make their choice and I would support anyone using it! (I WANT TO MAKE THAT CLEAR)

However I have noticed that the active ingredient in latisse is prostagladin, a growth factor that has been linked to acceleration of most cancers tumours including breast
for example : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16118353
Now it is likely that it is not important enough a dosage to activate receptors in breast and other areas of body and as yet no one had tumours in eyelid I would agree. But it is now known that botox for example travel to other sites than the face so for my part (at the moment at least) I will look for alternative. I suppose if I had been using it and only required to put it on once a week now then I would continue, but not sure I want to start putting it on everyday..

That's my 2 cents on it, now everyone make their own choices..

Tattoos!! What a great idea! Good for you. Eyebrown and eyelash loss was worse than hair loss, I agree! Strangely for me, even though I'm still on chemo my eyebrows and eyelashes are coming back in and very much darker than they were. My brows look okay, lashes are very stubby right now. I'm wondering if this is temporary and they'll fall out again. Just have to wait and see. Keep us posted on the lids. good luck.
