Just had my checkup
Just had my checkup, complete with bloodwork and physical. Everything is looking fantastic. Nothing showing up in the blood, no new lumps or bumps from the physical. My muga Scan came back good. I couldn't ask for anything more. I asked about a brain mri and he's going to schedule that and my scans for my next appointment in three months. But, you know, he did make a good point. I could get a brain mri today and have it come back clear and in six months something could show up, so why put myself through the worry. Anyway, he feels that it's his responsibility to not only treat the cancer but to do what it takes to put me at ease and as he says. Live my life as normal as possible without recurrence. So we're going to do scans 1x a year for the first five years and at anytime I feel no more scans, then I tell him to stop. So not only am I feeling great about the checkup but I think I have a wonderful team of doctors. My next appointment in two weeks is with my rad. onc. to check on how my radiation did. Here's to a good fight!

Dawn,
That's a terrific check-up! The scans really do get me anxious. My doc only does them if I have a pain and am worried.
Celebrate your good check-up!
Hugs,
Lexi

I just had my 3 month check up last Friday and my bloodwork and exam look good, too. I used to get so nervous when I would walk in the door and now I feel calmer. I think, for a while, I had this chemo association with the office and would even feel a little sick when I would first get there. It's better now.
I am happy for your good news, too.
Take care,
Karen

Dawn,
That's great news and I'm so happy that you have a great team. My oncologist usually orders a PET/CT scan about every 3 months. I think it's more to put my mind at ease than anything else. Keep up the good work. It's always an inspiration to hear good news.
