A fun day with green shoes!!!

I thought would post this and some may get a laugh from it. I said I would keep everyone updated on my snowbirding in Destin, Florida. Well, needless to say we are having a ball. My hubby and I went window shopping except it was a little more then window shopping. I found these "Keds" shoes on clarence for $10.00!! I tried them on for fun and they were so comfortable, MicroStretch, washable, and so thought they would be nice to wear on the beach. Only one thing they were green! Well, my husband can be so funny and kept laughing about my green shoes. He kept saying I needed to buy some green accessories to go with them such as a purse and we did see green purses to match. Then he suggested a green robe or house coat. Then, it was a hat. So I purchased a sundress with flowers and green to match the shoes. I went into another store and he stopped in a shoe store. When I came back, guess what he was doing?? Trying on green shoes!!! I asked him what he was doing and he said looking for shoes to match mine!!! He did not purchase any green shoes. Now, I am sure I am not going to hear the last of the green shoes. Now, before cancer I would not be caught dead in green shoes but now think its cool. It was a fun day and wanted to share it with you all. hugs, Sandy

Sandy

Loved your puttin on the green story...you will be all ready for St. Patrick's day....remember, as long as they are comfy...can't be to careful with the Xeloda feet....like when I bought flip flops in San Antonio for my sore feet....it was an ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh moment...I must admit I looked like an idiot when I returned to O'Hare with a wool winter coat and flip flops, but my feet loved it!!!!!!!!! Maybe a green pareo as you bask in the sun in Destin!

Dear Sandy,
sounds like you are having FUN!
Theres a great Irish pub just at the foot of the Destin bridge heading west to Okaloosa. Its called McGuires and they have loads of lovely GREEN souvenirs (t-shirts,hats etc) the food is good too. (Just thought maybe you would want to keep this wardrobe colors scheme going for St Pattys Day!)

Enjoy your get away!

"It's not easy being green!"

Hi Sandy,
I loved your green shoes story. Green has always been my daughter's favorite color and has therefore been a big color in our family. Happy to hear you are enjoying Florida.

Sandy, thank you for that light, humorous, and entertaining green story. I am so glad you are enjoying yourself and realizing how cool different things can be. I am green with envy that you are a snowbird in Florida. I hope to be a snowbird someday. Chicago winters are too long. Enjoy!

I did not know green is a growing color and so may have to do more with green!! I know there is the Irish Pub as we went there last year and we loved it. We will do it again this year. My husband had a ball in there. Kind of saving it for our birthdays which both are this month. We will celebrate with a drink and that will be special as we do not drink because of the medication we both take. I don't want to end up in the hospital with too many toxins in my body. I will be on xeloda break that week and so it will work out well. I am glad you enjoyed my story about the green shoes. Our friends came over from Pensacola (they snowbirds from Maine) today and I showed them to her and she said, "put them on and wear them". I told her I didn't want to embarrass her!! She said she would get a pair if there were more. I did wear them and they were wonderful!! I will be ready for St. Patrick's day as I have socks at home. I love socks and have all kinds of them for every Holiday. My oncologist just loves checking my feet because he says he likes seeing what I am wearing for socks. He calls me the sock queen in oncology. I am sure I will have more stories to share!! hugs, Sandy
