Herceptin Reaction???

First thanks for any information you can give me. I am on weekly Herceptin and had my third infusion last Tuesday with no problems at all. On this Saturday, I got a fever of 99.8, chills, and aches and I do not have the flue but it felt sort of like it. Today is Sunday and I am better but still ache. Is this any reaction anyone has had that long after an infusion? I am also doing radiation at the same time.

I experience a lot of bone/joint pain with Herceptin. At first it started out sort of like flu symptoms - general aching, etc. I have tried Herceptin every week and every three weeks trying to see if one would be better than the other. It doesn't matter what my schedule is I still have bone/joint pain and sometimes it is very severe. Herceptin has many side effects so all I can say is hang in there. There is a post on the board here titled "Herceptin side effects real or perceived." You might want to check that out. You can do a search and you will find the thread. Best of luck to you.

Herceptin

I started Hercptin in Sept. (this year) and did it weekly for the first eight tx's with absolutely no complaints. I really felt pretty good- even though I was on chemo through some of it. I got my first 3 week dose 2 weeks ago and have felt horrible ever since. Everything hurts- bones and joints, but especially having difficulties with muscular pain. Also have mild, but constant nausea. Don't know if this is the Herceptin , or if I had a bug. I guess that I'll need to try it again this week and see how I feel. If it doesn't change, I would rather take the weekly dose and feel better even though its a little more hassle.

I think that Herceptin must have a cumulative effect. When I first started I had no problems and now with each treatment I get the bone/joint/muscle pain increases. I guess it's a small price to say to stay NED.
