Excellent article on Sexuality and Intimacy
In a recent LBBC e-newsletter was a rather long transcript of a talk by Michael L. Krychman, MDCM, from Newport Beach, CA, and affiliated with Hoag Hospital. His discussion mentions the issues and controversies over the use of localized Estrogen to help vaginal atrophy and other side effects following treatment. He suggests that every case is individual (some women want it; others don't) and he lists non-hormonal products to improve the health and pH for women (Replens, Vitamin E, Slippery Stuff to name a few). He also talks about what to avoid in OTC products. So, if any of you are having issues in this area, this article may be of interest to you. I hope it's helpful. ;-) Vicki

Re: Excellent article on Sexuality and Intimacy
Thanks for posting, Vic. Several times in the article, Dr. Krychman refers to Lori Brotto and her work. Here is a link to an interesting article on her from the New York Times, discussing her work on lack of libido: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/29/magazine/29sex-t.html

Re: Excellent article on Sexuality and Intimacy
Vicki, thank you for posting this article. I am surprise that this issue is not brought up more often. It is not an uncommon situation for many women due to multiple factors associated with cancer, age, meds, hormonal shutdowns, etc.
