We missed a big birthday on June 17, that of our friend Joe. I don't know how many of you know, but Joe started this web site at the request of his wife Christine when she was first undergoing cancer treatments and couldn't find information. Web site development is NOT Joe's profession; in fact, he works a full-time job in addition to being our full-time advocate and friend. He gets little sleep and has time for few other activities. When was the last time you went to the beach, Joe? (It's only about 1 1/2 miles from his house!)

Here's wishing you a wonderful new year, Joe! Take time to relax. We love you.

Love and light,

Lisa

I couldn't let this post go unanswered. The effort that Christine and I have put into this website has been rewarded manyfold by the friends that we have made through this website.

We love it when everyone shares their good news with us, but also are concerned when there are setbacks. We both consider each and every one on this site as family and there is an open invitation to anyone who visits the San Diego area to call us so that we can get together.

Also the work that we do on behalf of the group offline has been extremely rewarding. We have met the giants of medical research such as Drs. Slamon, Pegram, Winer, Nora Dysis, Edith Perez, Debu Tipathy, among others. We have also sat down and talked with patient advocates Dr. Susan Love and Musa Myer.

Lisa, I do have another life. We went to the San Diego County Fair yesterday. Valley View Casino a few weeks ago on our anniversary, (highly recommended - excellent buffet). I spent almost the entire Fathers Day weekend with my wife and both daughters.

The beach? The water temp is about 65 degrees, but the sunset at Dini's is still gorgeous.

Like they say, when my time comes, I'll slide into home plate screaming. "What A Ride"

Warmest regards to all.
Joe

Well, Joe -
It took some prodding but you did admit to slipping away from the computer from time to time! Glad to hear it, as we don't want you to burn out before a cure is found!

Belated BONNE ANNIVERSAIRE! (That's Happy Birthday in French.)

WOW, how could I have missed this post!!
Happy Birthday Joe!

I don't have the whole birthday thing as a problems as:
1. I am not getting older,
2. My parent said I was dropped out of the sky by a stork and,
3. Everyone else thinks I was hatched.

Isn't it nice to be 35 again?

All the best,
Al and Linda
