Steph,

I read your response to Staci with great interest. I was diax with bone and liver mets (numerous, 20-25%) in Sept. and have been on Navelbine and Herceptin since. So far, really good results. Your story is an inspiration for me, as well as others I'm sure.

Love and light,

Lisa

Hello Lisa -
(Meeting so many lovely women on this site!)
Yours is one of numerous "great news" stories for the Navelbine and Herceptin combo. (They have a high synergistic involvement with each other.) I have a friend whose bone mets recently recurred. She is on navelbine with fab results in a short period of time. She is also Her2+ and was quite downhearted until her first scan and saw how well the drug was working.
It pleases ME to be able to have a good result personally to share with you gals. This board has also done me some good and I now check it almost every day!
Keep those inner candles lit!

Steph N.,
Thank you for your responce. While on Herceptin only, and NED, I was not having weekly blood counts. This seemed reasonable to me since Herceptin doesn't decrease your counts. During one treatment we did a CBC and found my hemoglobin to 7. In retro spect I was feeling more fatigued than usuall over several months, but living with this disease I honestly didn't process that mentally. My onc felt the most common cause would be a gastrointestinal bleed from somewhere. I then had an upper gi endoscopy that was normal, a lower gi endoscopy that was normal. Fortunately my gi doctor recommended a capsule endoscopy-where you actually swallow a large vitamin like capsule that is really a camera that records everything while passing through. This way they can see the small intestines where the endoscope can't reach. Sure enough they found a lesion in my small bowel. My rountine, every 3 month CT scans did not pick this up. I hope this helps.
