Hi Everyone,
I know that we had a post previously on this topic, but I can't find it. Can someone tell me what is the size limit of a brain tumor that can be treated by Gammaknife...is it 3mm?
Thanks

Generally, it depends on the location of the tumor, but 3cm is usually the max. Cyberknife on the other hand has successfully treted tumors up to 5cm.

Regards
Joe

Gamma-knife can be used for brain mets less than 3 cm's. Tumors at size mm. are much easier to obliverate, and this makes good sense to do the rad-attack asap. Hugs

Thanks, Christine and Joe. In your opinion, how long after WBR should one wait?

Celina, WBR can work for upto 9 months or more depending on the dosage. You should see an imrovement depending on the size of the mets. The larger ones can take a little longer than the smaller mets. Hope this helps. Patience, rest, and nourishmentgets you through this therapy, and is absolutely necessary to revive your energy level. Hugs
