Talking HER2 phase I vacine trial results - GOOD!

After 71 days on a vacine trial for HER2 I produced antibodies that knocked
out 5 lung mets and stablized the growth in the breast. However, I did have
3 cm growth in the liver (which is a little over 1 inch.) Progression on a drug
is not considered sucessful but I consider this to be very good results!

Hi Beth,
Sorry to hear about the liver growth. I am wondering if these trials are still open. Since I missed any opportunity on herceptin (unless anybody knows of trial offered for late herceptin). I would be interested in looking into this vaccine.
Thanks,
Kristen

Hi Beth,

Good to hear that the vaccine is doing some good work. Is this the PTEN vaccine offered by MD Andersen?

Hi all,

This was NOT the PTEN vaccine. I was incorrect in my posting before, sorry.
I jumped the gun after talking to a nurse before my onc gave me the correct
info. It is a HER2 targeted vaccine to produce antibodies to attack the HER2
gene mutation. One of the prerequisites is to have at leat one measureable
tumor. The trial was created by a PHD in Columbus, Ohio at The James
Cancer Hosptial and Solove Research Center at OSU University Hospitals.
My onc is the Director of Breast Oncology at the hospital and research center. He is head of the trial. Any more info needed let me know.

Trial info

www.jamesline.com Ask about the Phase I Active Immunotherapy with Peptide Vaccines. This vaccine is made up of a component of HER-2 and an adjuvant which is a substance that may stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies and/or other immune responses. I had REMISSION of the lungs and
produced antibodies! This is for patients with metestatic and/or recurrent solid tumors.
