Finally good news
I had a 2nd lumpectomy and axillary node dissection on 5/18.
I just talked to my surgeon and he said of the 16 nodes he took....ALL WERE NEGATIVE!!!! YEAH!!!!! He said there was a bit of foci DCIS (not sure exactly what he means, but he took it out of me) and he and my onc and the whole tumor board were thrilled with my response to chemo! Clear margins too! YEAH!!!! I am so happy!
Also, my onc told me my MUGA went up from 60 to 66. I will continue Herceptin until 3/07 and do rads when my body heals, but I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. I keep crying, not sure why!
Hugs to all,
Tracy

That's great news! The tears are probably tears that were pent up just waiting for results. Let the tears flow, you deserve a good cry.

Tracy,
Fantastic news! I remember being told that my nodes were negative right after I woke from anesthesia and all I could do is weep with relief.

Thanks everyone! I was happy to hear the news as you can tell. My nodes were positive before chemo so I guess the chemo (A/C, Then Taxol/Herceptin) did its job!
Have a great Memorial Day!
