Skin mets

Can you ladies tell me what skin mets are like. A pimple showed up on my arm about a week ago. I have ignored it, thinking it would go away in a few days. It has not gone away and it is now sore, hurts to touch. It even hurts outside a 1/2" diameter of it. Should I be worried? I know I have been feeling like I have been put out to the pasture some what since I have been off of Herceptin for a month now, with no drugs to help combat the cancer should it decide to re-accure again.

Anita,

I was diagnosed with IBC after having a small pimple like rash appear on my breast. However, I really believe if you were to have your bc spread, it would be around your mast site. If the pimple doesn't go away in a couple of weeks it sure wouldn't hurt to have the dermatologist take a look.

Hugs to you. I know that things we took for granted previously can cause us a lot of grief!

My skin mets are an itchy red rash (not bumpy) around the cancer site, slightly raised. I have not had the pimples, so I would hope that yours is a spider bite or allergic reaction to a bite of some type. I'll cross my fingers for you, but I would have a dermatologist check it out sooner than later. I have IBC, don't know if that is your diagnosis or not. Let me know how that pimple does. I send you best, healing wishes from California. Love, Vickie

Speaking Of......

My husband had a spider bite that never healed correct, the 'mis-healing' alerted us to seek help, but a rash did appear short after. The rash is the same type as these fine ladies describe.

I am a huggggggggge animal lover and do not even squash a bug, but let me tell you...I Love Spiders!! Hope you just have a bite, but if it does not go away shortly, get it checked out!! Best of Luck to ya!!

Thank you ladies for your reply. Your replies helped me with my paranoia. Funny how 3 yrs. ago I would not have thought twice about a pimple on my arm!!

Believe, I just read your post, there are so many weapons these days to fight this beast. Read past post, so many women here have had brain mets. They use a gamma knife for the procedure. From what I have read, people are home the very next day because the surgery is less invasive due to the gamma knife. Be strong for your husband, you are his most valuable weapon.

Might be a boil?

Hi Naturaleigh,

It might be a boil, they look like a pimple but hurt like heck. You don't want to mess with it yourself and if it needs to be lanced, a physician needs to do it. That would be my guess.

Have a great day!
